Yes, we offer Madisar sarees in silk, cotton, and polyester. Silk sarees come with grand borders, simple borders, and without Jari (Jarigai) for Shradham sarees. All Madisar sarees are traditionally made without black color.

Madisar sarees are available in silk, cotton, and polyester. Silk is preferred for weddings and grand occasions, cotton for daily wear, and polyester for convenience and easy maintenance.

A regular saree is typically six yards long and worn with pleats in the front, while a Madisar is nine yards long and wrapped in a dhoti-style manner, which requires a different draping technique.

While traditionally worn all day, many women now wear it only on special occasions due to various challenges. Madisar sarees are worn during weddings, Sumangali Prarthanai, Seemandham (baby shower), Grahapravesam (housewarming), Poonal (sacred thread ceremony), religious functions, and annual rituals for ancestors.

A Madisar saree is a traditional nine-yard saree worn by Tamil Brahmin women, especially during auspicious occasions, religious ceremonies, and weddings. It is draped in a unique style without a petticoat, symbolizing cultural and spiritual significance.

Iyer Madisar has a kosuvam (a pleated fold at the back), whereas Iyengar Madisar has a different dropping style. The draping technique varies between these two communities.

Not only is the Madisar saree a mark of devotion, tradition, and cultural heritage, but in the olden days, Mamis used to wear it as a daily dress, much like how chudidars are worn today.
